Reliable, large-scale renewable energy developments
Green Energy Investhor Zrt. (GEI), a leading renewable energy company in Hungary, was established in 2021. Our goal is to make a long-term contribution to Hungary’s energy security and to economic growth built on clean energy. Our innovative developments serve the balance of economic, social and environmental values – because we believe that where green energy is created, the future takes shape.
Introduction
Our company was established with the aim of producing sustainable, clean energy for Hungary over the long term. We believe that the energy of the future lies in renewable sources, and that the coordinated use of solar and wind energy, together with modern energy storage technologies, represents the next major step in the development of energy generation in Hungary.
Within our portfolio, we develop interlinked complex systems in which solar and wind power plants are integrated with intelligent energy storage solutions, ensuring that the green energy generated is available continuously, consistently, and efficiently. In doing so, we are not only increasing the share of renewable energy sources, but also contributing to Hungary’s energy independence and security of supply. Our activities focus on large-scale, industrial-level energy developments; our company specialises specifically in implementing complex projects with significant capacity at grid level.
Our experience also extends to previous hydropower developments and geothermal projects, giving us a comprehensive professional background across various areas of renewable energy. In addition, we are continuously examining further renewable energy generation opportunities related to hydro and geothermal energy, as well as green hydrogen.
To date, we have played a key role in the development and operation of solar parks with a capacity of more than 600 MW DC at more than 10 sites in Hungary, in the areas of Siklós, Keszü, Tiszapüspöki, Gersekarát and Sárfimizdó, Túrkeve, Mezőcsát and Paks. In 2025, the generation from these power plants accounted for approximately 10 percent of Hungary’s solar energy production.
Further information on our solar power plant projects is available HERE.
Our most significant project at present is the management of Hungary’s largest wind farm investment in the Kisalföld region, in the area of Vadosfa, under which we are building a wind farm with a capacity of 499 MW DC.
Further information on our wind farm project is available HERE.
