Energy storage systems allow the electricity generated during the day to be stored and then used or sold when it is actually needed. This increases security of supply, reduces grid load and makes the use of renewable energy more efficient. Energy storage also helps to balance energy prices and increase the flexibility of the system. Together, the solar power plant and the energy storage facility, therefore, ensure more stable, more predictable and more sustainable energy generation.
This is why we began constructing an energy storage facility next to the Paks solar power plant commissioned in 2024, which, according to our plans, is scheduled to commence operation in the second quarter of 2026.
