About the project

Our most significant project at present is the preparation and management of Hungary’s largest wind farm investment in the Kisalföld region, in the area of Vadosfa, under which we are building a wind farm with a capacity of 499 MW DC.

Project preparation

Taking into account the various laws and local building regulations, we began the permitting procedure on the basis of more than 26 exclusion criteria, following around one and a half years of consultations with the authorities, ministries, environmental organisations, national parks and local municipalities, as well as detailed surveys.

When installing the wind turbines, instead of the minimum distance of at least 700 metres from residential and holiday areas as specified by law, we typically maintain a distance greater than this. In addition, when installing them, we take into account the protection distances for roads and utilities, arable land protection requirements, local, county and national spatial planning requirements, nature conservation conditions, the mining and mineral deposit characteristics of the area, its geological conditions, and archaeological sites.

We have concluded cooperation agreements with all affected local governments according to the construction locations of the wind turbines and their associated electricity grid connection facilities. We actively involve and inform the municipalities, mayors, town clerks and local residents about the permitting processes directly affecting the settlements and about the project.

We have also concluded contracts with the owners of the land intended for the placement of the wind turbines included in the building permit applications, which the land registry has entered in the property register.

The investment in numbers

16

settlements in whose vicinity we are building wind turbines.

70

wind turbine towers are planned for construction.

90

km of municipal roads that we will renovate and widen, and on which we will create road junctions.

70

square kilometres over which we are assessing the environmental impact

128

properties where we have launched archaeological research

10

producer substations, 1 MAVIR switching station, 1,400/132 kV station
